Finding healthy lunch options isn’t as daunting as it may sound! You don’t need to spend a lot of time making up gourmet recipes nor do you have to back their lunches full of “boring” foods your kids will complain about eating!
A healthy meal for anyone should include a protein, healthy fats, vegetables and fruit and I recommend following Michelle Tam’s (nomnompaleo.com) Golden Rule of Lunches: Don’t pack anything that you wouldn’t happily eat yourself!
Get your kids involved to help pick out some health lunch options, when they have a say in what goes in their lunch, they are much more likely to eat it!

Veggie Kabob’s or Sticks
You and your kids favorite veggies: Carrots, Bell Pepper's, Celery, Cherry Tomato's, Cucumber's (Costco Mini Cucumbers don’t even need cut up!!)
Healthy Dips: Hummus, Tessamae’s Dressings, Primal Kitchen Dressings, Guacamole, Nut Butter of Choice is great with Carrot’s and Peppers!
Apple Sandwich
Use your favorite nut or seed butter: Almond butter, cashew butter, pecan butter, sunflower seed butter, peanut butter (made with Valencia grown peanuts to minimize mold toxins)
Grassfed Beef or Chicken Sausage Patty
Applegate Farms brand sausages
Costco often has Grass Fed Beef and other healthy meat options!
Lunch Meat Roll Ups, Chocolate Chia Seed Pudding, Apple Sauce, Veggies and Fruit
Lunch Meat Roll Ups
Applegate, Plainville Farms organic lunch meats (Plainville Farm’s Turkey available at Costco!)
Collard green or Romain lettuce wrapped inside or outside the lunch meat
Fill wraps with any other desired veggies – cucumber sticks, bell peppers, carrots
Daiya Dairy Free Cheese Slices for a better option than Kraft Singles or store brand cheese slices or those with a dairy sensitivity.
Primal Kitchen Avocado Mayo for added flavor or pack hummus or guacamole for a dip for roll ups!

The options are truly endless when you start diving in to healthier lunch options! Convenient thermos containers make it easy to pack a favorite grass-fed beef chili or other warm meals when the fall weather hits.
